Abstract The goal of this chapter is to define different types uncertainty in technical systems and provide a unified terminology for book. Indeed, comes disguises. first distinction made with respect the knowledge on source uncertainty: stochastic uncertainty, incertitude or ignorance. Then three main occurrences are discussed: data, model structural uncertainty.
